Biltmore Estate Trail Ride

Come join us for a fun day of trail riding on Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.
Biltmore has over 80 miles of breathtaking, scenic and well maintained wooded trails. New maps of the trail system are available at the Equestrian Center main office at no charge.

We will meet in the main day rider parking area beside the French Broad river, ready to ride at 10:30AM


Please do not arrive before 9AM, the time the Equestrian Center office opens.

Release of liability forms must be completed and sent to Lori West by August 5, 2007(faxed, snail mailed, or emailed).

If you are unsure you will be able to attend, it is no problem if you need to cancel.

I will also need the names and contact information (home phone, cell phone, email) of each rider to contact you in case of foul weather and for planning the meal.

The rates posted here are a substantial discount. To receive the discounted rates, you must mention Piedmont Paso Fino ride when making your reservation with Biltmore Estate Equestrian Center (BEEC).

Fees payable to Biltmore Estate

Fee to ride on Biltmore Estate $20.00
Ticket ONLY to see the House $40.00 (this does not include riding privileges)
Stall in barn (six available) $25.00/night
Outdoor pen (portable stall) $15.00/night
Paddock $20.00 per horse per night, max 4 familiar horses per paddock recommended
Camping Fee $5.00 per person
Grounds fee (for a corral) $5.00
No picket lines allowed. Fees are payable by check, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.

All riders must be Piedmont members. A special $10 one-time guest trail ride membership will offered, forms available the day of the ride. This will not affect or change your primary affiliation if you are a member of a different PFHA region. Please make checks payable to "Piedmont Paso Fino Horse Association" (checks preferred, but cash accepted if exact change provided).

camping facilities

Overnight camping is in a large field along the French Broad River. There is a city water spigot and there are portable toilets with hand washing facilities. There are no electric hookups or showers. Generators are allowed until 10PM. absolutely no open campfires on the ground are permitted; campers may use charcoal grills or have small fires in containers off the ground, unless extremely dry conditions require a ban on all fires. Dogs must be on leash at all times, and left in a cage/trailer/camper NOT tied out, when riders are not present at the camp site.

If you would like to stable your horse offsite, The Western Carolina Agricultural Center is close by.

Please note the following are not allowed on trails: smoking, dogs, alcoholic beverages, and guns.

Lunch will be provided by Piedmont. If you would like to bring a special dessert or treat to share with friends, please do!

DIRECTIONS
ALL TRAILERS ARE NOW DIRECTED TO ENTER THROUGH THE MAIN BILTMORE HOUSE ENTRANCE. Directions may be obtained here:

When entering the main gate, go past the large ticket office, and proceed to the ticket check point. Tell the Biltmore staff at this checkpoint that you are with the Piedmont Paso Fino ride, and need to get to the Equestrian Center. The checkpoint personnel will have a list of Piedmont members, as well as guests. Follow the signs to BEEC, Biltmore Estate Equestrian Center, which are burgundy with a horse head. Please do not arrive before 9AM, the time the Equestrian Center office opens. When entering the Estate, please proceed past the day rider parking lot and check in at the BEEC barn office before parking. Have a current coggins dated within twelve months. ONLY trucks with trailers will be allowed in the Estate without a ticket to reach the ride.

From Interstate 40 East: Take I-40 east to Asheville. Take exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore Estate entrance.
From Interstate 40 West: Take I-40 west to Asheville and take exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore Estate entrance.
From Interstate 26/U.S. Highway 19/23 East: Take I-26 east to Asheville. In Asheville, take I-240 east to I-40 west. Follow Interstate 40 west to exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore Estate entrance.
From Interstate 26 West: Follow I-26 west towards Asheville to exit 31A (Hickory/Knoxville exit). Take I-40 east to exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore Estate entrance.
